Maria’s Public School received the School of Excellence Award 2025 at the Second Edition of the Student Outreach Eastern K-12 Excellence Awards 2025 on January 25 at Guwahati.

Mrs Nandita Baruah awarded Extra Curricular Excellence Award 2025

In the same event Mrs Nandita Baruah, HOD, History and Cultural Coordinator of the School received the Extra Curricular Excellence Award 2025 for fostering cultural awareness, unity and creativity within the school community. Mrs Baruah has been instrumental in organising various cultural festivals showcasing diverse traditions, languages and cuisines. She also initiated community service projects tied to cultural themes, organised field trips to historical sites and cultural landmarks. Her own creation ‘The Rhythm of the North East’ a musical involving a hundred students was a great success.

Mrs Pamirshree Phukan receives Innovation and Creativity Award

Mrs Pamirshree Phukan of the Department of IT was the recipient of the ‘Innovation and Creativity Award.’ She assists with a wide range of creative tasks, such as content generation, brainstorming, problem solving and idea development, critical thinking, research, communication and collaboration.

Under her guidance the Marian TEL (Technology and AI for Easy Life) team of 3 students achieved the First Position in the Business Pitch Competition hosted by Assam Downtown University. She was also one of the mentors in the project to make ‘Model Rocket’ from scratch which was successfully launched by 6 students into the sky reaching 200+ feet in its second try. This project was recognized by a Swedish Company named ORAHI and supported them with a seed fund of 50,000INR. Besides these, Mrs Phukan has been guiding students in other pathbreaking projects.
