The Investiture Ceremony of Maria’s Public School was held on May 10, 2025 to induct a new student cabinet for the session 2025-26. The programme kicked off with a special prayer, “Where the mind is without fear…” by Rabindranath Tagore conducted by Principal Mausumi Mahanta, prior to which she spoke about the significance of these immortal words. The prayer was followed by a speech from Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs Nellie Ahmed. She emphasised on some pertinent points of being an effective leader of the student community and said, “The supreme quality of a leader is, his or her unquestioning integrity. This is one of the best character traits which every leader must possess.”

The Chief Guest of the occasion Brigadier A K Borah, VSM Group Commander NCC Group HQ, Guwahati, in his inspirational speech said that their roles as student leaders are some stepping stones for their future endeavours in the bigger platforms. Lieutenant Colonel Ashish Kumar, Training Officer, NCC group HQ Guwahati also graced the occasion as one of the invited guests.

It was a solemn moment when Swapnali Mazumdar, the outgoing Head Girl handed over the school flag to the new Head Boy and Head Girl Hemraj Dass and Arihana Medhi respectively. Thereafter the new cabinet took their oaths conducted by Mrs Monisha Sharma, a teacher in the department of Social Science. The entire programme was anchored by Dr Sarah Hussain of the Department of History.
