MARIA'S PUBLIC SCHOOL

Heartiest congratulations to the team of Marian debaters, Nirvan Saikia (Class 12 Commerce), Devam Bhattacharjee (Class 10) Sampreet D Malakar (9) and Riyanraj Bhagawati (9) for reaching the semi finals in the 19th East India Debates 2025 at Assam Valley School (AVS), Balipara, Tezpur where a total of 14 teams participated from across the country. MPS was one of the four best teams along with Sri Ram School, Moulsari, St Georges, Mussoorie and AVS, Balipara to reach up to the Semis.

Out of the three Pre Quarter Finals, the MPS team won two, against DPS Guwahati and Sunbeam English school, Varanasi, going up to the quarter finals, for which a total of 8 teams qualified.

The MPS team won the quarter finals against Bishop Cotton, Shimla, going up to the semi finals for which four schools qualified. The first semi final was between Shri Ram school, Moulsari and MPS. Shri Ram and AVS were in the finals and AVS finally lifted the trophy.

Nirvan Saikia and Riyanraj Bhagawati of MPS were two of the 10 best speakers in the preliminary round.
