Afsheen Afsha Zaman, a student of Maria’s Public School, Guwahati who came 2nd in under U12 category in the All Assam Inter District Championship 2022 held from 29th March to 1st April 2022 organised by All Assam Chess Association at Shemford School, will represent the state in the 34th National Under 12 Girls Chess Championship -2022 at Mandya ( Karnataka)  to be held from 9th April 2022 to 14th April 2022.

Marians emerge best team in Rakhtab Dutta Choudhary Memorial North East School Chess tournament 2022

The Marian chess players lifted the Best Team trophy in the 9th Rakhtab Dutta Choudhary Memorial North East School Chess tournament 2022 organised by Mind Sports Foundation and Assam Jatiya Bidyalaya with All Assam Chess Association from March 24 to 27, 2022. While Afsheen Afsha Zaman won the first position in Knight Group and sixteenth position in the overall group, Shuvang Pran Kashyap secured the 2nd position in his age group category. Ameyaa Gupta from class 3 B won the first position in her age category.
