MARIA'S PUBLIC SCHOOL
UNDER MARIA'S PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL TRUST
A Senior Secondary School affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education
Maria’s public School wholeheartedly celebrated Children’s Day, really dear to our hearts, lifting up everyone’s spirits. It was more special this year around as it was celebrated with much enthusiasm and most significantly on a physical platform after three whole years of everyone battling the pandemic.
The show our teachers put up was nothing but amazing and above all they kept our long tradition of conducting the assembly where our beloved teachers play our roles wearing our uniform.
The children of classes 1, 2 and 3 were taken to the school basketball field, where all their teachers put up various entertaining performances for them. There were approximately two-three performances from every class in the primary section. Teachers sang beautiful songs and danced to wholesome numbers, creating wonderful memories when eventually the small children joined them as well.
The classes 4 and 5 celebrations were conducted in their respective classes with their class teachers and subject teachers. They were encouraged to showcase their talents in whichever way they could. Many students came up to show their skills on singing, dancing, recitation, magic show, etc.
The teachers played Musical Chair in the classroom where each student participated. Overall it was an enjoyable celebration for the cheerful young ones who went back home with happy smiling faces.
For class 6 onwards, the assembly began with Nivedita Choudhury Ma’am’s radiant voice which was pulled through with the same energy till the end. She welcomed Nellie Ahmed Ma’am, our Founder and Managing Trustee to deliver a few words of encouragement, which was followed by a group song by the senior secondary teachers. The fun-spiritedness brought by their carefully chosen songs and dance moves set the perfect mood for the day. This was followed by a very creatively curated mime act on the overuse and obsession to technology, especially cell phones, prevalent in the current generation. The teachers put up a brilliantly conceptualized and unique performance. A group of teachers also danced gracefully to peppy bollywood numbers which was enjoyed by all.
Maria’s Public School always stands out when it comes to projecting its own creative ways of entertaining the children, yet putting together something substantial. Proving this statement true was the remarkable fashion show that the teachers put together so seamlessly, that gave an edgy cut to the entire event. The fashion show highlighted a very important message that the voguish fashion industry today often seems to overlook. The secondary and senior secondary teachers portrayed their beautiful attires while holding a placard that displayed short quotes on body positivity. The students were amazed to have witnessed such a progressive approach towards style and fashion, put together by valiant efforts of their dear teachers.
The fashion show was followed by a heartwarming performance by none other than the Vice Principal, Anjan Gogoi Sir himself accompanied by Sharangapani Mishra Sir, HoD, Sanskrit and conductor of musical performances in the school. Old traditional Bollywood songs were revived through their melodious rendition. Vice Principal Sir’s gifted talent has always been greatly appreciated by all his dear students and teachers.
Ending the program was a beautiful medley of songs, by a choir which included the secondary and senior secondary teachers led by Sharangapani Mishra Sir. It put a memorable end to the entire event, and all the students immensely enjoyed every part of it. The vote of thanks was offered by the Head Girl and Head Boy on behalf of the children.
