MARIA'S PUBLIC SCHOOL

MPS Annual Art Competition – 2019-2020 was organized at the Birkuchi, Narengi Campus on 27th of January, 2020. This is a recurring Intra-School Competition which is organized every year during the Winter months, in the memory of Late. Kaushik Dev Chowdhury, alumnus of Maria’s Public School, where a running trophy is given to an overall best Student Artist, every year. Students from Classes VI to XII had participated in the Competition, where 3 best Artists received commendations from the judge. Ar.Neha Kaul Parasher was the Honourable Judge for the event which was primarily organized by the Dept. of Design, Art & Media, which was started by Mrs. Nellie Ahmed Tanweer, Honourable Founder & Managing Trustee, Maria’s Public School, during the year 2012. The Event began with the felicitation of the Judge by Mr. Anjan Gogoi, Vice Principal of the School. Under the effective mentoring of Mr. Biswajit De, Creative Director, MPS, the department’s Primary Goal is to identify and nurture Creative Talent among the student community, nurture and groom the innate abilities of the students and prepare them from Design based career, after Class 12. The Basic Design & Art Curriculum, meticulously designed by the Dept. of Design, Art & Media enables the students to crack the Aptitude Tests and Entrance Examinations of enterprising and recognized Design Institutes, nationwide, like NID (National Institute of Design), NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology), SPO (School of Planning & Architecture), IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Symbiosis Institute of Media & Design, and many more.
