The Atal Tinkering Lab, the new lobby and a cafeteria were inaugurated at Maria’s Public School in the presence of NEDFi officials, CMD Mr. P.V.S.L.N Murty, Executive Director Mr. S.K.Barua, General Manager Mr. Lemli Loyi and DGM Mr. R. E. Zeliang on March 3, 2022. Three teachers and four students were also applauded in the solemn function. 

The Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs. Nellie Ahmed expressed her gratitude towards the NEDFi for their continuous support in the growth of the school in her speech. Congratulating Dr. Munindra Kumar Majumder, HOD, Maths and Mr. Biswajit De, Creative Director for their awards and achievements, Mrs Ahmed said quoting Kobe Bryant, ‘Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses. She said that ‘these words mean so much in every walk of our journey on this earth.’ 

NEDFi CMD Mr. P.V.S.L.N Murty, stressed upon building of a strong character and conduct and said that the life of a human being is worthwhile if he keeps his values intact. He also spoke about NEDFi’s encouraging wing to support entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. 

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Munindra Kumar Majumder was recently awarded with the CBSE Honour for Excellence in Teaching and School Leadership for the year 2020-21. He is the only recipient of this award from North East India. The Managing Trustee on behalf of the entire Marian fraternity congratulated Dr. Majumder for receiving this award as well as the other national awards he was conferred upon in recent times. 

Mr. Biswajit De, the Creative Director of the school was also felicitated for being invited by Cambridge Education and British Council to Colombo, Sri Lanka, for a 3-day Capacity Development Workshop from 15th – 19th February, 2022, for his passion and contribution to the climate and environment sector.  He was the only Indian invited by the forum for this summit. 

Mrs. Mercy Alex was bade farewell upon completion of twenty eight years of relentless service to the school. Remembering her days in the school, Mrs. Alex said that universal love towards all is the mantra to feel happy and healthy. She also expressed her gratitude towards the Managing Trustee as well as the entire school for support during her tenure in the school. 

Four students, namely Kaustav Prakash Sarma (Class 10) Krishangee Sarma (Class 10), Khatija Hussain and Nandini Das (both studying in Class 9) were applauded for their remarkable achievement in the same meeting. While Kautav Prakash secured first rank among twenty thousand participants in the National Entrepreneurship Olympiad, 2022 organised by VNIT, Nagpur, Krishangee reached till the third round in the same event. Khatija and Nandini developed an app, Kiddoz World for smooth learning of nursery rhymes, arithmetic, Hindi etc guided by Mrs Moonmoon D Chaliha, HOD, Science. 

Following the meeting, the AT Lab, the new lobby and the cafeteria were inaugurated by the dignitaries.
