Dr. Munindra Kumar Mazumdar has been conferred the National Award for Innovative Practices and Experiments in Education by NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) for the year 2019-20.
Dr. Mazumdar is the HOD Mathematics of Maria’s Public School, Guwahati. This coveted award is on the basis of his Project on Joyful Learning of Mathematics in the classroom. Dr Mazumdar submitted fifty innovative teaching modules for the award category.
Earlier, Dr. Mazumdar received the prestigious honour of the ‘National Award for Outstanding Effort in Science and Technology Communication (Maths), 2018’ conferred by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, for popularizing Maths among children through print media including books and magazines. He also published numerous books to encourage understanding of Math through experiential learning. Maria’s Public School is indeed proud of his achievement.
