MARIA'S PUBLIC SCHOOL

A solemn air filled in the Assembly Ground at 9 AM on May 25, 2022 as the new School Cabinet for the session 2022-23 took oath led by the Academic Director Ms Shahnaaz Rahman at Maria’s Public School. The Investiture Ceremony was doubly significant as after a two-year spell of pandemic the student leaders were elected democratically by the senior students and teachers of the school. 

The ceremony started with a special prayer led by Principal Mausumi Mahanta. Although the Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs Nellie Ahmed could not physically attend the occasion due to some pressing demands, she sent a message to the new cabinet wherein she said, “For us, Investiture Ceremony is not just about providing titles, but about conferring responsibilities to the students, to take charge of the school and take it to the height you desire with your leadership and decision making skills, communication and teamwork.”

Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, retired Colonel Rabindranath Chatterjee, a Gallantry Award winner veteran army official and an alumni of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy spoke about the significance of one’s appearance and a positive attitude towards life. He also shared a thrilling experience of rescuing Indian soldiers from foreign grounds.

The cabinet members with Vedarshi Sarma and Mahita Saikia as Head Boy and Head Girl respectively were pinned badges by the Chief Guest Colonel Chatterjee, Mrs Rimly Bezbarua, Principal Mausumi Mahanta, Vice Principal Anjan Gogoi, Academic Dean Mrs Shahnaaz Rahman and other senior faculties of Maria’s Public School.
