Extraordinary student achievers in sports were felicitated in a special assembly on April 7, 2022 at Maria’s Public School. The Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs Nellie Ahmed, in presence of the parents of the young achievers,  the Principal along with the Marian fraternity lauded the commendable feats accomplished by the young Marians. The Round Square Student Leader badges were also distributed and the new MPS-RS Student Council was declared in the same assembly. 

One of the young achievers felicitated in the assembly, Kasturi Gogoi, shared her experience while crossing the Indian Ocean accompanied by her trainer Babul Gurung. They swam across the Indian Ocean and created a world record to enter the Guinness Book of Records. The duo started swimming from Colombo and arrived on the Indian shores of Tamil Nadu. The total distance covered in the course of the feat was 110 km, with a 13-hour and 54 minutes journey. 

Afsheen Afsha Zaman, who was one of the  students felicitated in the assembly will represent the state in the 34th National Under 12 Girls Chess Championship -2022 at Mandya ( Karnataka)  to be held from 9th April 2022 to 14th April 2022.

Bhumika Kaushik, from Class 10-C, who was also applauded in the assembly, secured Silver medal in the International Women’s Table Tennis Tournament held in Kathmandu , Nepal in team event recently. 

Juotishmita Sarma of the outgoing class 10 batch, who won the first RS King Constantine award in MPS was handed over the medal by the Founder and Managing Trustee amidst loud round of applause and cheer.
