Founder’s Day 2021 was celebrated with elan on the virtual platform with teachers of MPS, MMHC and Maria Montessori Elementary School coming together to rejoice and wish the Founder Managing Trustee Nellie Ahmed on September 27.

The programme, compered by Jabeen Sharma Pathak began with the National Anthem followed by a Saraswati Vandana by Ragini Sarma, a student of the ‘Inclusive Education’ wing of the school. A birthday song by the Primary students mesmerised all present on the occasion. The Principal Mausumi Mahanta while wishing the Managing Trustee said, “This hallowed institution was established 33 years ago with the aim of nurturing enlightened citizens equipped with the necessary tools and the tireless drive to make a difference in the world they inhabit. One only needs to look at the educational trajectory that we have unfailingly followed over the years to realise this aim under the unfaltering guidance of Nellie Ahmed.” Academic Director Mrs Shahnaaz Rahman, who’s been with the school through thick and thin reminisced the formative years of the school. 

The highpoint of the programme was the chat-show arranged by Ms Ditty Ahmed, one of the senior most teachers of the Maria Montessori House of children with the Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs Nellie Ahmed wherein she recalled the early days of dreams, determination and resilience, and how she built the school brick by brick from one student in 1988 to more than two thousand student today. The Vice Principal Mr Anjan Gogoi, Headmistress Primary Sec, Mrs Aradhana Bora, Headmistress Maria Montessori Elementary School, Ms Yasminara Hussain, Head Mistress Senior Secondary Mrs Madhabi Goswami and Creative Director Mr Biswajeet De also extended their special wishes to the Managing Trustee while Senior Secondary Student Bonshika Das talked about the journey of the Managing Trustee. ‘For You Ma’am’ wishes  from the little ones and the Founder’s Day song ‘Brick by Brick’ sung by Banashree Baruah, lyrics by Mun Ahmed, videographed by Ditty Ahmed filled the air with joy and solemnity. The dance performance by the students of high school spoke a great deal about the vivacity and passion involved in the making of the school. 

The poster of the Student Conservation Corps and Nature Task Force was also officially launched as a part of the day’s programme. The event came to an end with the renditions of the school song followed by the State Song.
