Heartiest congratulations to our alumni Pragyan Chakraborty of the AISSCE 2019 batch for securing a Graduate role in the Australian Public Service. He’s currently stationed in the Northern Territory capital of Darwin where he will commence his role as a Law Reform Officer for the Department of Children and Families from January 12, 2026.
Pragyan earned this job through an intense recruitment process with an aptitude test, English fluency, two rounds of interviews, assessment of college grades (both undergrad and post-grad) and extra curricular performances.
In the build up, he served as a School Partner for the School of Social and Political Sciences at The University of Sydney where he was responsible for creating policies pertaining to Student Life and Wellbeing by advising the Head of School on core policy changes. He also won an honorable mention for distinguished service as a peer mentor whilst serving as the Team Leader for the Study NSW Industry Experience Project, bringing together students across NSW, Australia for a strategic business project.
Pragyan graduated with a distinction average score in his Master of Public Policy which served as the icing on the cake. He completed his graduation from Hansraj College, Delhi University and Masters from University of Sydney.
