The entire Marian family headed by the Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs Nellie Ahmed along with Principal Mausumi Mahanta, Vice Principal Mr Anjan Gogoi, head mistresses, faculty members, officials, staff and sub-staff of Maria’s Public School celebrated Founder’s Day with a heartfelt tribute to its journey, its values and the vision that have shaped the institution over the years.
Vice Principal Mr Anjan Gogoi spoke on the significance of Founder’s Day, reflecting on the enduring values and ideals that continue to guide the school.
The Founder and Managing Trustee, Mrs Nellie Ahmed, beautifully spoke on the essence of a school’s legacy, saying, “A school may have a founding year, but its legacy is written every single day. It is written in every child who walks through our gates. It is written in every teacher who stays a little longer to help a child. It is written in every parent who places their trust in us. And it is written in every generation that leaves our school carrying something of its values into the world.”
Principal Mrs Mausumi Mahanta in her message read out by Mrs Nandita Baruah, HOD History, described the occasion as a time to pause, reflect and celebrate an extraordinary journey, while paying tribute to the all-encompassing vision of the Founder and Managing Trustee, Mrs Nellie Ahmed. She highlighted the Founder’s unwavering fortitude, perseverance and sheer grit in building not merely a school, but an enduring legacy and an exceptional standard of leadership.
The celebration also included an all-faith prayer, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude and tribute to the departed teachers who were strong pillars of the school’s foundation.
The recently launched coffee-table book, ‘Turning Visions Into Reality – An Entrepreneur’s Journey’, was showcased before the teaching fraternity on the same occasion. The book, chronicling the remarkable journey of the institution and its Founder, served as a fitting reminder of the vision, dedication and milestones that have shaped Maria’s Public School.
The celebration ended with a community lunch.
