Maria’s Public School bid adieu to eight of its dedicated teachers and an official on March 22, 2021 in a solemn function in its newly constructed open-air theatre. As dusk approached, the glorious tenures of these teachers who have worked in the institution for decades came to be wrapped with fond memories. The Founder and Managing Trustee Mrs Nellie Ahmed fondly recalled each of the teachers’ dedicated service in shaping young minds and their contribution towards building the greater Marian ethos. She felt that they have left their footprints behind as each of them was committed to their work and was instrumental in establishing this institution as one of the most well reputed schools in North East India. The Principal, Mrs Mausumi Mahanta in her speech said that it was a celebration of their workmanship, commitment and zeal. The Academic Director Mrs Shahnaaz Rahman who spoke at length about their service extended gratitude to the teachers on behalf of the entire Marian fraternity. The outgoing teachers reminisced the years which are replete with numerous tales of the bygone days. A song and a dance were also performed by the teachers in honour of the retiring teachers and the counsellors. The evening came to an end with high tea arranged in the newly built cafeteria of the school.
